IRTC Business
Ces discussions ont donné lieu à plusieurs joint publications, presenting research on differences and commonalities of different approaches on criticality, as well as implications for industries, policymakers, and the Circular Economy.
In 2020, the IRTC project started its second phase as “IRTC-Business” with an increased focus on supporting industries in the identification and managing of Critical Raw Materials, via (virtual) round table discussions and workshops with the support of an Industry Focus group, the publication of guidance documents, and the development of web-tool for raw material criticality evaluation and mitigation.
About the project
The IRTC project is coordinated by ESM Foundation, Switzerland, and funded by EIT RawMaterials. EIT RawMaterials, initiated and funded by the EIT (European Institute of Innovation and Technology), a body of the European Union, is the largest and strongest consortium in the raw materials sector worldwide. Its vision is to develop raw materials into a major strength for Europe. Its mission is to boost the competitiveness, growth, and attractiveness of the European raw materials sector via radical innovation, new educational approaches, and guided entrepreneurship.

Our contribution to the project
Based on the outcomes of the expert discussions, WeLOOP will develop a webtool that supports the decision-making process of companies in the evaluation and mitigation of the company's supply risks. Furthermore, WeLOOP directly supports the project coordinator ESM Foundation in the organization and moderation of Round Tables and (virtual) workshops and takes the lead in the redaction of workshop summaries and specific publications.
