The regulation therefore aims to<strong> reduce packaging waste at source, improve recyclability, promote reuse and increase the use of recycled materials<\/strong> in order to reduce the use of natural resources and the associated environmental impacts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">The PPWR entered into force in 2025 and becomes applicable from <strong>12 August 2026<\/strong>. However, its main technical requirements (recyclability, recycled content and reuse) will only be introduced progressively between 2028 and 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">This transition period is crucial: <strong>companies need to start structuring their data today, identifying compliance risks and preparing for changes to their packaging<\/strong>. In this article, we review the key PPWR deadlines and the actions to take now to prepare your packaging portfolio for the requirements of 2030 and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-qui-est-concerne-nbsp\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Who is affected?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-neve-link-hover-color-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-neve-link-hover-color-background-color has-background is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\"><strong>The PPWR covers all packaging, regardless of the material used, and all packaging waste<\/strong>, irrespective of the context in which the packaging is used or the origin of the packaging waste: industry, retail or distribution, offices, services or households.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">However,
