REV3: A regional drive for a sustainable future

For nearly ten years, the Hauts-de-France Region and the Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIR) have jointly led the REV3 initiative. This collective project aims to transform the region into a more sustainable, inclusive, and competitive area by addressing the challenges of three major transitions: energy, technology, and society. REV3 represents a collective and tangible response to adapt the Hauts-de-France region to these profound changes, while making a strong commitment to the decarbonisation of our planet.

Booster Transformation REV3 

The REV3 Transformation Booster is a programme designed to support regional businesses, across all sectors, in their transition to a sustainable and decarbonised model through expert guidance and the tools provided by the REV3 framework. This initiative offers an opportunity for Hauts-de-France businesses to fully engage in the REV3 transition and enhance their competitiveness while adopting sustainable practices.

  • Evaluate the REV3 integration level of the company.
  • Guide strategic choices related to economic, energy, and environmental transitions.
  • Identify innovative projects to implement.
  • Develop a quantified and structured transition plan to enhance resilience and competitiveness.
  • Engage the company's ecosystem in the REV3 initiative.
  • Regional SMEs as defined by the European Union
  • Have at least one 12-month fiscal year to their credit.
  • Are registered with the RCS or the RM.
  • Are up to date with their tax and social obligations.
  • Do not meet the European definition of an enterprise in difficulty.
  • Comply with the de minimis aid threshold.
  • The service is co-financed at a rate of 50% of the net cost, with a maximum grant amount set at €10,000 per paid invoice.
  • A company can benefit from 2 subsidised missions per year on different topics.

How the system works

Eligible SMEs select their service provider from a list of accredited experts in sustainable transition. The system offers a methodology that ensures tailored support:

  • Initial assessment: Analysis of the company's current situation on the chosen topic.
  • Definition of priorities: Identification and prioritisation of key areas of focus to maximise the impact of actions.
  • Detailed action plan: Development of a structured plan including partners, objectives, deadlines, and expected outcomes.
  • Performance monitoring: Implementation of a dashboard to measure impacts and adjust actions if necessary.

The expertise of WeLOOP

WeLOOP is listed as a third-party expert within the framework of the REV3 Transformation Booster, to support businesses in the module on circular economy and life cycle assessment of products.

The support actions and deliverables specific to the module aim to reduce the carbon footprint of the business by designing an integrated circular economy approach within the company. Here are the types of support expected:

  • Resource assessment: An overview of the materials and resources used in the current production processes.
  • Study of alternatives: Analysis of existing solutions, whether bio-based or not, to optimise resources.
  • Sustainable research and design: Identification of opportunities for better sourcing, eco-friendly design, and improved product reparability.
  • Value chain analysis: Evaluation of the impacts on suppliers, subcontractors, and customers, taking into account the scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Prioritised action plan: Development of a roadmap targeting the strategic levers to be activated within the company.
  • Carbon benefit estimation: Estimation of CO2 savings per unit of production and on an annual basis.
  • Financial impact estimation: Evaluation of the effects of transformations on the financial structure, including working capital, the need for working capital (NWC), and cash flow.
  • Environmental performance valuation: Creation of arguments demonstrating the environmental and economic benefits, particularly in light of the requirements of the CSRD Directive.
