Strategic challenges related to the sector de la santé

The healthcare sector is undergoing a major transformation, at the intersection of innovation, performance, and sustainability challenges. Its complex structure and essential role in society make it a strategic domain where economic, regulatory, and environmental dynamics are rapidly accelerating.

  • Broad scope structured around healthcare
The sector encompasses medical devices, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, digital tools, and healthcare facilities (hospitals, specialized centers).
  • An essential role in the functioning of societies.
Healthcare addresses a fundamental need, which strengthens its strategic importance and limits the scope for reducing activity.
  • Croissance continue portée par l’innovation
The sector is expanding, driven by technological and medical advances (precision devices, biotechnology, digital health).
  • Health crises highlight current limitations.
Recent episodes have highlighted the need to strengthen resilience and integrate more sustainable models.
  • A long value chain with a significant environmental impact.
Production, international logistics, distribution, and use in healthcare facilities generate multiple impacts.
  • Regulatory pressure and a growing need for differentiation.
Environmental criteria are becoming mandatory in public procurement and tenders, turning environmental performance into a competitive advantage.

Focus on our projects

Partner of the PEPS project led by Eurasanté, WeLOOP supports healthcare stakeholders in reducing their environmental impact. This program aims to identify concrete levers for a sustainable transition in the Hauts-de-France region, particularly through eco-design. Within this framework, WeLOOP carried out simplified Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) for actors such as Libel’Up, CSARR, and Diagast, in order to inform their decisions and structure their environmental approach.
